History & Philosophy
The prestigious London Make-up Academy was created in 2002 when it was noted London lacked an advanced, up to date and really relevant fashion and media make up course. Nicole Arter, founder and principal tutor, fused her passion for teaching with her extensive education and experience in the industry to create the LMA’s groundbreaking All-in-One Advanced Make up Artistry Programme.
An ex international fashion model and MAC make up artist, having worked with hundreds of top hair and make up artists, Nicole has learnt all the techniques and tricks. Trained in advanced hair styling techniques, all areas of make up including special effects, airbrushing and drag, an expert in eyebrow shaping and eyelash extensions, and personally taught by the award winning nail technician Leighton Denny, Nicole has been represented by agencies such as Models1 Make up division and Carol Hayes Management who represent the talented Gok Wan.
Having worked on publications such as Vogue, Tatler and Harpers & Queen, ad campaigns, music videos, tv shows and many home grown stars such as Lee Mack, Cat Deeley, Ricky Gervais and Classical Brit Award winner Alison Balsom to international celebrities Paris Hilton to Michael Bublé, Nicole brings her wealth of experience to teach you how to achieve perfect results first time in any sphere.
Our philosophy is to continually create the highest standard of make up artist in London today. With our reputation going before us, we are proud to be firmly on track.
