The main focus of the London Makeup Academy is to arm graduates with enough knowledge of each discipline they'll need to be a working, professional make up artist. We set out to raise the standard of courses on offer by bringing our teaching into the 21st Century and creating an advanced, all-in-one course which produces multi-skilled artists who can save their clients money by providing an all-encompassing service.

Having worked as a full-time make up artist herself, Nicole Arter, the LMAs founder and main tutor, knows all too well what it takes to work in the industry and was aware of problems within traditional training methods. This provided the inspiration behind the inception of the Academy. The comprehensive syllabus, with its attention to technical detail is taught on an intimate basis, placing the emphasis on the individual and ultimately producing artists with their own identity and not clones with no flair or imagination.
